Michaela Murphy

Provide skilled interventions and treatments to high school and middle school students, using meaningful activities to help them succeed in the classroom. My duties include documenting intervention sessions and providing my skilled input to the occupational therapists I work with.

• Substitute teacher for elementary school-aged students, kindergarten through 6th grade. Implement lesson plans and classroom management for students.

• Worked hands-on with adults with moderate to severe disabilities. Responsible for taking small groups of clients (3-6) out into the community while increasing their social life skills. Provided skilled instruction for cooking and art classes to clients in the program.

• Greeted parents courteously and directed kids into the program. Responsible for supervision of kids aged 5-7 with Autism while working one-on-one to develop sensory, behavioral, social, and communication skills.

• Caregiver to 12- year- old boy with cerebral palsy. Responsible for transporting child to and from appointments, feeding and preparing meals, transferring, and securing child into stander assistive device, and assisting him with perineal hygiene.
