Summary
Being a Longshoreman at the Port of L.A./Long Beach has been a rewarding job providing me with multiple skill sets. As you will read in my work history a Longshoreman wears many hats. I take my work very seriously in terms of safety, time management, strong work flow, dependability and more. I'm a happily married man and new dad to a wonderful baby girl. My wife and I are wanting to relocate and we are prepared to do that when the time comes. We want a new place to plants our roots and raise our family in a healthy environment.

- Safely maneuver 20ft to 53ft shipping containers and other materials (liquid or gas loads) on bomb carts, chassis, or flat racks . I drive a UTR carrying shipping containers to top handlers/side picks or a crane to either load onto a container ship, freight train, or semi truck, or storage in a yard warehouse.
- As a "Lasher" I used "lashing bars" to lock down shipping containers to vessels or unlock shipping containers while working safely in hazardous, confined space, on narrow catwalks in any type of weather.
- As a "Clerk" I am responsible for keeping inventory of the shipping containers being imported/exported or stored in the yard warehouse.
- As a "Swingman" I am responsible for keeping work areas safe by signaling to crane operators, and UTR drivers.
- As a "Dock Signal" I am responsible for keeping work areas safe by signaling to crane operators, UTR drivers and outside truckers.
- As a "Heavy Lift Operator" I handle and offload bulk cargo out of the holds of ships and carry them safely to warehouse storage.
