Life Outdoors

I love being out doors where I can experience the challenges of loaded ruck marches withing the provincial parks of Ontario.

August 2023 I went hiking in Banff National park for four days where we were able to hit elevations exceeding 2400 meters and covered a total of 90km within the time there loaded and unloaded.

I am comfortable in the cold as I was able to appreciate the vast beauty of the Yukon where I participated in 3 days of dog sledding where I learned the basics of dog sledding and was able to apply the techniques in real time where I manned my own dog sled team along the Yukon river.

Additional Information

I've wanted to be a member of the armed forces since I was 10. I decided to pursue civilian life because as I got older I realized my mother had started to accumulate more and more health issue. I wanted to stay close in order to provide a better quality of life as she was a low income earner and a single mother.

I took care of her until the she passed away a day after my 34th birthday. I have been preparing myself for the last two years spiritually, mentally and physically in order to pursue my child hood dream as a contributing member to the Canadian Armed Forces as a combat engineer.

I have been keeping myself in the loop with current affairs of the Canadian Armed Forces deployments and am familiar with operation unifier stationed in Poland for Ukrainian soldiers and the multinational brigade in Latvia which Canada is leading and is estimated to use up 70-80% of our country's deployable troops.

I understand I may not be the youngest candidate you'll interview, but I consider that an asset as I bring a multitude of leadership skills, and strong work ethic developed over almost two decades of real world experience and an appreciation for physical and mental conditioning developed throughout my 16 years involved in combat sports.

I am an asset and can be utilized within the Armed Forces and look forward to hearing from you.

- Sincerely

Michael Alexander Fleming
