• Managing and supporting curriculum review teams by responding to technical questions, identifying barriers to completing the reviews, identifying options to arrive at consensus and resolving any issues identified that may be encountered while ensuring deadlines are met.

• Coordinating the review of the curriculums by identifying and assigning nursing experts with appropriate experience to curriculum mapping teams.

• Maintaining ongoing communications to foster positive relationships with international nursing regulatory bodies and educational institutions, ensuring that NNAS leadership is aware of any changes or other significant initiatives related to international nursing education and regulation.

• Liaising with Global Affairs Canada, other agencies or contacts to identify those responsible for nursing education, nursing education curriculums and nursing regulation internationally.

• Developing and maintaining the roster of nursing experts to review curriculums, ensuring consistent quality, supporting consultants to prepare context papers and act as a resource on nursing education and/or regulation outside of Canada.

• Preparing contracts for consultants consistent with NNAS standards and procedures for the Executive Director’s approval.

• Monitoring budgets and reviewing and approving payments to consultants.

• Supporting the dissemination of nursing education reports, including developing and conducting training webinars for regulatory body staff in consultation with NNAS team.

• Planning and coordinating international site visits for a team of NNAS nursing consultants to meet with nursing regulatory and educational experts outside of Canada. This includes conducting research, coordinating travel arrangements with support of NNAS’ team and travel consultants, preparing itineraries and communicating with interested parties both in Canada and abroad.

• Proactively communicating with the Executive Director regarding project progress, managing risks, identifying issues and proposing solutions.

• Integrates skills and knowledge from nursing theory and principles of adult learning in the provision of direct resident care, clinical coordination, clinical problem solving, education, and research for a defined group of residents/programs.

• Provides leadership that is visible, and proactive and promotes the delivery of resident care through the application of practice standards.
