CERTIFICATES: Project Management Foundations Policy Coherence and Systems Thinking for Sustainable Development (with the United Nations) Project Management Foundations Organisation Learning and Developpement Planning Monitoring and evaluation People analytics Unconscious Bias as a leader DE&I Data (masterclass) Penser et intégrer la diversité en entreprise L'inclusion et la diversité intergénérationnelle au travail References as needed Rockland (Ontario), February 8th, 2023 Canada Council for the Arts Ottawa, Ontario Re: Senior Human Resources Advisor Madam Riendeau, I believe it is important to apply for the position mentioned to contribute to the institution's mandate and ensure that it has effective end-to-end consulting services. I am highly motivated to lead or participate in any other HR project or initiative using best practices in project management and change management. I will capture and analyze information to evaluate the existing to find opportunities for improvement and better consulting services as a Senior Human Resources. After graduating with a master's degree in sociology in 2022, I found that data analysis, learning development, capacity building, and policy analysis would also be useful in my career perspective. This is one of my motivations to get more certifications regarding policy coherence and systems thinking for sustainable development, monitoring and evaluation planning, people and gender analysis, and my research capacity (qualitative and quantitative). In over ten (10) years of experience in human resources administration and talent management, I have always demonstrated natural leadership and thoroughness in developing procedures, implementing new projects and management system. I am a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills, able to make strategic recommendations using relevant design tools. I can work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. In collaboration with two other partners during November 2022 until March 2023, we are in the process of providing the Ontario French-language Parent Teacher Association with the necessary tools and knowledge to enable them to play their role as primary educators, but also to defend their collective interests. Together, we are becoming involved in their quest to integrate inclusion and diversity in a meaningful way in all their actions by equipping parents. I am the quality manager, one of the trainers but also, I will have to intervene in the data processing to submit the evaluation report according to indicators (5) of relevance, effectiveness, reaction, motivation, learning. This is my first professional consulting project of such a large scale that I hope will underline my contribution to Canadian society through training, information on the themes of equity, diversity, and inclusion in order to help parents with their children to face discrimination and prejudice and finally to be agents of change/ambassadors in the fight against racism and discrimination in school communities. As an HR Consultant at Desjardins Credit Union-Ontario, I provide strategic advice to (12) twelve senior managers on all complex situations and issues related to the interpretation and application of policies, including employment legislation, terms, and conditions of employment, as well as talent acquisition by providing recruitment and engagement strategies for Visibility Ontario to interview and hire highly qualified and diverse financial talent. I also adapt human resources tools to ensure that they meet the reality of the credit union for proper implementation (training plan, skills development plan). I can manage the full cycle of recruitment, projects and HR initiatives from initial needs assessment, research, consultation, development, and implementation. Throughout my academic career, I have worked on policy analysis, numerous research projects, data analysis, and assessment of critical workforce metrics (survey, exit interviews). I have made formal presentations on complex topics in both languages and in the environment (work and university). I also had the opportunity to conduct interviews, analyze data, transcribe data, develop guidance/recommendations based on relevant data to guide advocacy and inform public policy formulation. I am a determined and conscientious woman, who likes challenges, and with my motivation and my aptitude in problem-solving, I can’t wait to build productive working relationships with diverse colleagues across the organization. I remain available to answer any questions you may have or any confirmation you may need. Best Regards, Merline Destin, M.A.

Gender relations, Policy Analyst. Research Volunteer (community engagement) in policy, interethnic relations, immigration, social change

University Overview

; A qualitative research was conducted to assess the caregiving experiences of non-black social workers in black communities. As part of this assignment, a survey was conducted to understand the feelings of non-black workers (+100) operating with black communities following the emergence of the Black Lives Matter movement. With another research colleague, we did an effective data and policy analysis, and recommended concrete outcomes for better inclusion of care and cross-cultural trainings among others were put forth.

University Overview

With 2 participants interviewed, literacy reviewed, and (+10) documentaries about life experience of visible minority immigrant women (in Montreal) from National film board of Canada, I conducted qualitative research on the socio-economic impact of various barriers/exclusionary factors on visible minority immigrant women, as well as the strategies they have put in place to integrate into Quebec society. I wanted to see if an evolution has taken place through the discourse of the feminist movement and if it has influenced public policies in Quebec regarding immigration. Our conclusion proposed some recommendations to have a more precise objective on francization, to encourage even more practices of intersectional feminist intervention for immigrants, in particular visible minorities, to take themselves in hand (empowerment).

University Overview

A guide was developed on Indigenous perspectives in school animation on the identity crisis of Indigenous teenagers and the representation of Indigenous culture at schools (Aylmer-Gatineau). This guide helps school-based facilitators to place Indigenous youth at the center of the discussion process to consider the specificity of the teenagers as an individual with a particular life path that may have been marked by difficult or even traumatic events. The recommendations propose that these schools need to encourage Indigenous teens to be agents of change in the implementation of activities to facilitate visibility and awareness of Indigenous cultures
