As a co-op student at an interior design firm, I supported the design team with a variety of creative and administrative tasks. My responsibilities included researching design trends, sourcing materials and finishes, creating mood boards, and assisting with space planning. I also helped with organizing sample libraries and preparing client presentation materials.
Throughout the placement, I gained hands-on experience in a professional design environment and learned how to balance creativity with function. I developed a stronger understanding of color theory, layout, and the design process from concept development to final presentation.
As a CanSkate PA coach, I assist certified coaches in delivering engaging, effective skating lessons for young skaters. My responsibilities include leading warm-ups, demonstrating skills, setting up circuits, and encouraging skaters as they build confidence on the ice.
This role has helped me develop strong leadership, communication, and time management skills. I’ve learned how to adapt my teaching style to meet the needs of different age groups and ability levels, while maintaining a fun and safe environment.
Coaching has also deepened my passion for mentoring youth and sharing the joy of skating, inspiring me to pursue further certifications with Skate Canada.
