  • I have been recruited by this upscale hotel to ensure the successful setup of the Food & Beverage Department for the past 2 peak seasons. In this role, I oversee and implement effective operational procedures that provide the necessary tools to elevate standards, increase quality assurance, and drive sales and profit. Included in these tasks are management mentorship, staff recruitment, menu development and product directives, labour cost forecasting and overall budget analyses. I work closely with the Hotel General Manager and HR to drive efforts forward towards a common goal.

As the season ended I was transferred to its sister restaurant Delilah’s where I took over similar responsibilities.

  • I accepted this 3-month contract as Acting General Manager to open this new venue before returning to Daniel Hospitality Group. As acting GM of Canvas I played an integral part in the opening of this 200+ capacity venue. In addition to all of the initial recruitment and training of staff, I was responsible for creating and implementing of all of the operational procedures and policies for the site. My responsibilities included financial forecasting and control, small event planning, securing and dealing with suppliers, developing marketing and promotional ideas, and project executive-level project management. I oversaw and helped lead a team of 4 other executives and 4 managers to create one of Vancouver’s most inspiring locations.

  • In my initial role as Bar Manager, I was responsible for staff recruitment and training, inventory, ordering, and creating of new cocktail menus/bar promotions, as well as running both upstairs and downstairs bars in this 450+ capacity establishment. I eventually took over as Senior Restaurant Manager, overseeing both bar and restaurant operations, which involved the hands-on running of the entire building as well as the financial control of the venue.

I eventually took over events coordination and was responsible for costing and planning all in-house functions which ranged in numbers from 50 – 450 and included a very high profile/celebrity clientele list. My everyday duties centered around ensuring the smooth operation of the bar during opening hours and overseeing various back-of-house areas such as wages, forecasting, and preparing revenue reports for the General Manager.
