Worked full-time in the Heart Health program on both the Cardiac Surgery and Medical Cardiology units.

• On 3 North West - Cardiac Surgery (2015-2021), a critical care step-down unit, I provided full care for patients recovering from open-heart surgeries (coronary artery bypass surgery, mechanical and tissue valve repairs/replacements, transthoracic aorta aneurysm replacements etc) from post-op day 1 through discharge.

• On 3 South - Medical Cardiology (2019-2021), I managed a diverse group of medical cardiology patients including: Arrhythmias (e.g., A-fib, SVT, heart blocks), Acute and Chronic Heart Failure, Post-myocardial infarction, Pre- and post-device and stent patients (pacemakers, ICDs, Bullet pacemakers), Patients awaiting diagnostic procedures, coronary angiograms and cardiac surgery.

Proficient in telemetry monitoring and interpretation, defibrillation protocols, cardiac medication administration, and patient/family education.

Close collaboration with interdisciplinary teams including cardiac surgeons, cardiologists, NPs, PT/OT, pharmacists, and social work was necessary to ensure safe, efficient care was provided and to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.

• Provided compassionate care for a patient with cerebral palsy in assisting with activities of daily living including hygiene, meals, and community participation.

• Provided overnight care for a patient with multiple complex needs including cerebral palsy, blindness, deafness, and seizure disorder.
