Volunteer Experience

  • 2022, 2024, Toronto, The Food Bank of York Region, I've been volunteering with the Food Bank of York Region where I assist one to two days per week for 3 hours each with sorting and packaging of food; cleaning and organizing the facility; loading and unloading shipping as well as ensuring that the food and facility complies with food and safety standards., https://fbyr.ca/
  • 2014, 2018, Toronto, Muslim Charitable Organization at York University, I was a participant and volunteer with the York University Muslim Student Association where I prepared the facility every Friday for Jumaat service. I was also responsible for serving food and cleaning the facility every three to four days per week during the month of Ramadan.
  • 2011, 2012, Bangladesh, Save The People, My genuine interest in philanthropic and humanitarian work started as a teenager while residing in Bangladesh. Though I spent most of my years sheltered away in boarding school, my brief visits home provided me with some understanding of the pervasive poverty faced in my country. As a result, I was motivated to start a non-profit organization, “Save the People” which I funded out of pocket. I went door-to-door collecting used clothing from community members which I assorted by age and gender, then subsequently distributed to the impoverished so that they would have raiment for the winter season.
