Crew Leader

  • I have worked on the Burns Lake U/C for 4 seasons and have experience in all aspects applicable to a crew leader and crew member. I have experience working on initial attack targets as well as project fires, on fires I have done jobs such as pump operator, mop up tasks, hose trail cutting, DTA accessing and DTF, line locating and pushing machine guard, fuel free’s, and burn operations. In 2023 I filled the temporary crew leader possession and completed duties while making plans and managing members on my squad. In the shoulder seasons I have experience timber falling in blocks, pine beetle fall and burn management, and fire fuel management and stand thinning.

  • Farm Labourer and equipment operator. I am responsible for the pre-season maintenance and preparation of farm equipment before operating during the harvest season. Following harvest, I oversee a small group of labourers to ensure post season maintenance and winter preparation for storage is completed on time and correctly. During the fall I run the chainsaws and collect firewood and perform other general work around the farm. Throughout the year I also provide a hay delivery service to local customers.

  • I worked as a junior forester with Industrial Forestry Service, Dawson Creek, B.C. I was responsible for all terrain vehicle (ATV), truck, and chainsaw maintenance, refuelling tanks, preparing supplies for a 10-day camp shift (ribbon, food, water jugs, maps, GPS uploads). When at camp my responsibilities expanded to included block recce, rough layout of block boundary, roads, and wildlife tree patch (WTP). I completed final boundary layout and have experience with utilizing trimbles to GPS the boundary and roads in the various blocks. Aside from layout I have worked as a compass-men for a timber cruiser to assessing the volume and quality of wood within an assigned block.
