I have been working with the current team of employees in that department off and on for over a year. We all get along, work well together, trust one another's work and decision making. Have been told several times I would be welcomed to the team and would prefer myself over others. They are confident I can do the job/ task at hand. With my current understanding of the daily operations; they feel I would fit right in and learn the requirements in a timely manner.
Average day includes retrieving various parts throughout the facility, setting up my saw to cut said part(s) and ultimately cutting those parts to specifications laid out by the travelers provided. Each operation will have dimensions/ lengths that I carefully follow in order to provide a quality part cut to specific dimensions. Tools typically used for job operations range from assorted socket wrenches, alan wrenches, levels, cutting blocks that are the shape of parts, strap bands approved by engineering to have accurate lengths to ensure im cutting parts to proper lengths and occasional measuring tools like calipers, pin mikes and basic tape measures. Once parts are cut I normally move them to whichever building supports the next operation on the traveler. That requires either forklifts and or pallet jacks to transport. From there I radius said parts to specified dimensions again laid out by the jobs traveler using hydraulic presses mostly. Understanding the parts basic features like the inside and outside diameters, hole locations, tolerance levels, etc; goes a long way towards providing a quality part within companies requirements. At times I help out in other departments like expanding where I typically help another co-worker load and unload parts onto various expanders where we work together laying out the dimensions to the part; mostly using a strap band at first. We shuffle segments around throughout the process enabling the part to properly form while the expander enlarges the part to desired dimensions. All being done on a timeline cause its either hot or cold and will not expand properly if we take too long. Once complete; we remove and check the part using pie tapes, strap bands and tape measures. Ill check the parts round and flat features, log info into the system and move onto the next one. Once in a while ill assemble parts by countersinking holes, installing nut plates and popping rivets into said holes. We do that using hand held rivet guns, cordless drills, assorted drill bits and other tools needed for job completion. Making sealants for the rivets and nut plates is required. Through training I learn how to do that properly. The info is posted on either the internet and or on a printed out piece of paper with formulas printed on them. We then check our work to ensure everything is done correctly. Finally ill help out at shipping where basically ill be handed a part pick list, locate the parts and in various order pack said parts into either crates or boxes. Being able to identify all the parts is critical for several reasons mainly to save time, locate the right parts and in doing so; understanding which packing method to use. What wrapping methods are needed, the proper crate and or boxes to use and where to ultimately place parts when complete.
Work well with others Positive attitude Knowledge of basic tools for most jobs Will learn quick how to use un familiar tools Work promptly and in timely fashion to meet time requirements Very detail oriented which helps with efficiency Not afraid to ask questions Can adapt to multiple persons teaching methods Will work until job is complete no matter the time Follows directions well Work well under pressure Take pride in what im doing
