Ability to: -Set up various shop tools including milling machines, lathes, surface grinders and presses to support manufacturing and production

- Work safely unsupervised within a machine shop environment

-Fabricate jigs, fixtures and gauges to meet production and customer requirements

-Work from engineering drawings and machine within specific tolerances with accuracy

-Use tools and precision measuring instruments while working within close tolerances

-Build, troubleshoot, preform engineering changes conduct preventative maintenance and die repair on progressive, compound and transfer dies

-Plan and layout work

-Understand the working properties of steels and alloys and can select appropriate materials, tools, and process required to complete task

-Able to troubleshoot and repair tools to bring parts within quality specifications and production requirements

-Train and instruct apprentices
