1. Site Supervision & Crew Management
• Coordinate and lead piling crews (rig operators, labourers, welders, etc.).
• Assign daily tasks and ensure all workers understand their roles.
• Monitor work progress and make adjustments as needed to meet project timelines.
• Train and mentor junior crew members.
2. Planning & Execution
• Review project plans, piling designs, and specifications.
• Organize piling activities including drilling, driving, or augering.
• Plan the sequence of operations for pile installation.
• Ensure correct positioning and alignment of piles.
3. Equipment Oversight
• Inspect and ensure piling equipment (rigs, cranes, pumps) is operating safely and efficiently.
• Coordinate maintenance or repairs of machinery.
• Ensure proper tools and materials are on site.
4. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance
• Enforce safety protocols and PPE usage.
• Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings.
• Respond to and report safety incidents or near-misses.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations (noise, vibration, ground disturbance).
5. Quality Control
• Check that piles are installed to correct depth, angle, and specification.
• Identify and solve problems like obstructions or soil issues.
• Document installation records (e.g., pile logs, load tests).
6. Communication & Reporting
• Liaise with engineers, project managers, and clients.
• Report on daily progress, issues, and delays.
• Keep accurate site records and documentation.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Basic surveying knowledge (e.g., GPS, laser levels).
• Familiarity with different piling methods (e.g., driven, bored, CFA).
• Experience with ground conditions and geotechnical challenges.
