· Take calls daily from customers requesting straight boom pickers, knuckleboom/articulating pickers, spyder/mini cranes, jack and roll crews, and tractor/trailer services
· Determine which type and size of crane is required for each specific job based on the commodity and radius of the work requested
· Dispatch relevant auxiliary equipment such as specific spreader bars, lift bars, manbaskets, slings, pallet forks
· For trucking requests determine which trailer configuration is required for the work requested
Order any permits and/or pilots that may be needed
· Respond to phone call and email requests for quotes on jobs
Provide formal quotes or give hourly rates upon request
· Review Bill of Ladings from operators to ensure that hours charged and rates are accurate
When needed, use Titan GPS to verify times and locations with operator’s paperwork
· Run pre-authorizations on customer credit cards for those who do not have accounts set up
· Track number of trailer rentals, returning and renting more units when needed
· Work with one other dispatcher and usually one crane operator in the Dispatch office daily

· Knowledge of heavy lifting and heavy transport, which includes valving procedures, weight gauges, trailer capacities and capabilities, and being capable of adapting to different conditions in terrain and weather.
· Reading and understanding hydraulic, air, and electrical schematics.
· Knowledge of tasks for all positions involved in heavy transportation, thus creating an understanding of how to perform the job(s) most efficiently.
