Steel Erection Specialist

Work with tin and sheet metal cutting, measuring, screwing

Insulation polying, taping, general installation

Cocking, sealing weather proofing

Running scissor lifts, zoom booms, etc

Working at heights and slippery conditions

Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications to determine layout requirements

Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines

Select type and size of pipe required

Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools

Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system

Install supports, valves, piping and control systems

Test system for leaks using testing equipment

Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system

Remove and replace worn components and reactivate systems

Install clamps, brackets and hangers to support piping system and sprinkler and fire protection equipment, using hand and power tools

Select, measure, cut, ream and thread pipes

Installs valves, alarms and associated equipment

Test system for leaks using air or liquid pressure equipment

Apprentice Welder 2nd Year

Operate MIG, FLUX and ARC welding machines

Experience welding industrial oil storage tanks, heater boxes, ladders, truck boxes, grading, stairs, platforms

Measure cut and prepare pipe for pressure welders (bevel, apply landing, file)

Read blue prints, interpret drawing and extract measurements and dimensions

Read and use tape measure to precision

Team player, verbal and communication skills

Able to work independently and meet deadlines

Oxy Acetylene torch cutting, air plasma cutting, arc gouging etc

Use power tools zipcuts, grinders, dye grinders, buffers, chop saws etc

Experience with the maintenance and repair of welding

Documentation and paperwork skills

Maintain drilling equipment on the drill floor

Work 12 hour shifts of hard manual labor

Highly safety oriented and able to follow protocols and best practices accurately

Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills

Ability to maintain detailed logs and records for work

Work as part of a team, or work independently

Good physical health, manual dexterity

Able to work at various heights, and in both indoor and outdoor situations

Own lots of my own equipment

Excellent at maintaining both my equipment lent to me

Ambitious and reliable

Zero time lost, minimal sick day
