Interim Magnet Program Director

Kaiser Permanente
Santa Clara, California
08.2025 - 02.2026

Over a seven‑month period, transitioning from an ICU Staff Nurse II role into the Magnet Program leadership space as the interim Magnet Program Director), I accomplished the following:

  • Enhanced document readiness for magnet projects, boosting completion rates from 11% to 62%. Assisted in writing, revising, and aligning documents with magnet standards. Supported teams in identifying evidence needs and integrating data to back empirical outcomes.
  • Enhanced leadership communication by consistently articulating clear evidence requirements to ensure non-EO materials aligned with magnet standards.
  • Attended the In Pursuit of Excellence Magnet event to refine Magnet writing skills
  • Organized SharePoint page for Magnet Document files and uploaded documents appropriately to the ADAM site.
  • Partnered with a Magnet consultant to review Magnet documents for alignment with given standard
  • Facilitated professional development and nurse engagement, resulting in significant improvements across several metrics:
  • Peer feedback participation increased threefold
  • Self‑appraisal submissions more than doubled
  • Performance evaluation completion surpassed the regionally defined goal

Led and coordinated major projects within the Magnet and Communication Councils. This included:

  • Ensuring Magnet boards were reinstated or newly placed on every unit (resumed prior works)
  • Standardizing workflow expectations and checklists for Magnet boards
  • Partnering with Magnet Council nurses to create consistent, visually engaging templates for sharing updates, data, and unit accomplishments
  • Supporting the launch of “Magnet Mondays,” a structured reporting process for board updates
  • Managing the Magnet video initiative by coordinating with multiple subject matter experts to ensure timely production and completion
  • Coordinated regional EBP reporting (RNEGC) across all 21 NCAL medical centers, supporting clinical nurses and council members in preparing and delivering evidence‑based practice and council updates for regional dissemination.
  • Served as Site-PI for a new multisite research study
  • Reviewed and organized a research table for my local site with ongoing updates based on research evolution
  • Completed Annual Nursing Report content, including developing narrative stories that highlighted medical center achievements within the Magnet pillars. Responsibilities included writing pillar‑aligned summaries, coordinating photography, obtaining appropriate consents, and working with subject matter experts to compile comprehensive annual accomplishments for publication.
