1. Construction & Fabrication: Build scenic elements according to technical drawings and instructions provided by the Resident Scenery Director.
~ Source materials as directed and ensure all builds meet design specifications and safety standards.
~ Assist with set dressing and finishing touches, ensuring all scenic elements are production-ready.
2. Collaboration & Oversight: Work closely with the Resident Scenery Director to develop build schedules and prioritize tasks. ~ Communicate progress, challenges, and updates to ensure alignment with design goals and production timelines. Maintain flexibility and adapt to design changes or adjustments during the production process.
3. Installation, Maintenance & Repairs:
~ Participate in the load- in and strike process for all productions. Inspect and maintain the integrity of scenic elements during rehearsals and performances.
~ Be available to address and repair any scenic issues during the production run in a timely and reasonable manner.
~ Consult with the Resident Scenery Director for guidance on repairs or modifications as needed.
~ Brief the cast and Stage Management on the functionality and safety of all scenic elements.
4. Safety & Professionalism: Ensure safe work practices, particularly when working with tools, ladders, and overhead loads.
~ Follow organizational policies for break periods and time tracking in accordance with California state standards.
~ Maintain a high level of professionalism, efficiency, and communication
5. Additional Duties:
~ Assist with special projects outside of productions as directed by the Resident Scenery.
~ Other tasks may be assigned at the discretion of management.
