Collections Manager : Risk assessment, setting goals, supervising Collections and Insurance / Bankruptcy team, managing day to day assignments, negotiating payment arrangements, resolving discrepancies and ensuring legal compliance.
- Initiate Legal Proceedings : Following legal proceedings to escalate collection efforts, including legal action for extreme cases. Drafting legal documents, negotiating settlements, arrangements, and working closely with attorneys.
- Handle Fraudulent Transactions : Organize files and reports, work with local law enforcement agencies to attempt to recover financial and collateral losses. File suspicious activity reports and work with adult protective services depending on the circumstances.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable : Process a high volume of incoming and outgoing invoices accurately and efficiently, maintaining records and reports.
- Compile Account Statistics : Analyzed financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improved collection strategies. Create and monitor daily, weekly, monthly, and end of year reports utilizing excel spreadsheets that are presented to executive management and the board.
- Interactions with Debtors : Clear, strong communication capabilities, active listening to understand debtors' concerns, excellent negotiation skills to work out a payment or to locate the unit, empathy to handle sensitive situations, and the ability to remain professional.
- Skip Tracing : Identify, track and locate debtors and units utilizing skip tracing and plate recognition programs, research for new contact information, known associates etc.
- Door Knocking and Field Work : Unable to locate debtors, if within a reasonable distance, will attempt to make contact with debtors at known locations in attempt to arrange payment on delinquency and or results in repossession.
- Repos / Remarketing : Keep logs of vehicle inventory, personal property and handle personal property redemption, arrange transportation and sale of units. Work closely with third party tow companies, auction yards, and dealers.
Training staff : Trained and mentored new employees on collection methods, documentation requirements and performance strategies. Hold staff meetings with all employees regarding new laws, regulations and any adjustments made to the collections department.
