Summary
My name is Marilyn Rose, and I am a soon-to-be Graduate student at Carleton for my Master's. In June 2024, I will officially graduate with my English Bachelor of Arts with my concentration being the CTESL program, a certification to teach English as a second language. Within this program, I have had the chance to observe ESL classrooms as well as develop and teach lesson plans under the supervision of my host teachers. Within my studies, I have had the pleasure of learning the foundational aspects of linguistics, different teaching methodologies, the psychological science of acquiring language and second language acquisition. Moreover, in conjunction with my English degree where I would explore and analyze a wide range of texts, I have also conducted research in the ESL field that has informed my approach to teaching.
