· Under the direction of the registered staff ,a PSW is responsible and accountable in providing optimum care to promote the well being of each individual residents.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Perform delegated task safely and effectively

· Works cooperatively with students and volunteers to enhance resident care provided and foster community linkages

· Participate as required in the formulation and review of policies and procedures, goals and objectives.

· Provides care to residents following and established plan of care

· Observes and report resident health findings to he registered staff

· Complete resident records accurately to reflect the resident care provided complying with legislative and home requirements

· Participates in the orientation process of resident, students, volunteers and nursing personnel

· Participates as required on various Home and departmental committees.

· The Registered Nurse (Labor and Delivery )of Royale Hayat Hospital is responsible for the nursing care of total well being of expected mother and the neonate.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Administer medications in accordance with Royale Hayat Hospital guidelines, policies and procedures.

· Taken and recorded patient’s medical information and vital signs. Able to interpret normal from abnormal findings.

· Ensures pre-medical and pre-operative procedure and consent was signed and completed.

· Assesses, observes, report and record patient’s condition and prioritizing nursing action.

· Make accurate documentation of the patient’s health status and procedure in pre and post-delivery care.

· Report critical status of patient to the interdisciplinary team.

· Analyze the fetal heartbeat pattern and CTG readings.

· Ensures patient is position safely and accurately.

· Assist the Physician during the examination, special procedures, deliveries and assistive deliveries.

· Offer Support and education to patient about the optimal health care needs after the delivery.

· Proficient in identifying and dealing with obstetrical emergencies.

· Prepares and Transport patient in wheelchair or stretchers for emergency surgeries

· Maintains the patient record confidential and ensure completeness and accuracy of documentation in timely manner.

· Ensures proper handling and independent double checking with another registered nurse before administering high alert medications.

· Competent in IV cannulation, specimen collection, medication, IV fluid administration, wound dressing, ketone monitoring, obtaining ECG, blood glucose and measures intake and output.

· · Responsible for emergency situation and management (including codes).

· · Has competency in handling infusion pumps, CTG machines, built in oxygen and suctions machines.

· You should have the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.

· Promotes and develop teamwork with in a multi professional environment demonstrating critical analysis and decision making skills, and high quality nursing services.

· Being well organized and detail-oriented will help you correctly follow all procedures and ensure the safety of yourself, your patient, and your coworkers.

· Direct and guide ancillary personnel and maintain standards of professional nursing.

· To enhance the patient experience and ensure coordination of the patient’s journey by planning throughout hospitalization.

· Maintain proper care and use for all the supplies and equipment.

· Observe hospital rules and regulation and coordinate with other department staff for harmonious working relationship and effective service.

· Regularly attend departmental meetings, continues education and training programs.

· The Labor and Delivery nurse care provide thorough education and experience possess a distinct body of knowledge and skills related to patient during the childbearing process requiring general complex assessment and interventions. Applies specialized nursing knowledge in assessing, implementing and evaluating patient response to general and specific conditions, therapies and interventions.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Responsible for direction of patient care in the maternity care setting.

· Consults physician and Nurse Manager on nursing problems and interpretation to ensure patient needs are met.

· Demonstrates knowledge of fetal monitoring/ Cardiotocograph (CTG), identifies FHR patterns management.

· Ability to assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques.

· Educates the patient and family regarding pain management.

· Ability to formulate an individual plan of care, revise plan as indicated by the patient’s response to treatment and evaluate overall plan daily for effectiveness.

· Giving appropriate management to anti-partum and post- partum patients care.

· Performs new born assessment and assist the Pediatrican.
