  • UCW runs 4 terms per year, each is a 12 week term.
  • I teach 3 out of 4 terms per year as a Sessional Instructor.
  • The class maximum is 45 students and I typically have a waitlist of interested students.
  • Skills that are used in this job are: Moodle and now Brightspace integration and utilization, adapting to changing policies and procedures, adapting to international student global trends and changes in immigration polices as they affect the context.

  • I was hired to conduct research, host events, collect data and interface with youth from the Sunshine Coast to add to research that had been collected by the Community Resource Center of the Sunshine Coast as part of a project called: "The Progress Plan: Women's Wellbeing on the Sunshine Coast."
  • I was expected to complete the Gender Based Analysis training to conduct this work, which as a Women's Studies focus in my undergraduate studies was both familiar and easy for me.
  • I managed my own schedule, was given a time frame and a mandate for data collection and support from the program manager, which involved weekly meetings.
  • I made a list of all the relevant stakeholders and conducted meetings with department heads and facilitated small group discussion with youth on 3 separate occasions.
  • I was hired to "implement systemic change".

  • I began my career at the front desk and worked my way up, earning credibility and licenses, education and solid reputation.

  • I worked in an environment that was 100% commission for most of my career, so was in fact self employed as an independent contractor, built my clientele 50% from a good reputation, 50% from legacy referrals.
