Provide care for patients with mental health illness in collaboration with the psychiatric healthcare team including crisis intervention, therapeutic communication skills, de-escalation techniques through ongoing monitoring and evaluation of behaviors, medication management, and serving as a liaison between the healthcare team and loved ones.

Lead and foster a team oriented environment to nursing staff in order to provide excellent patient care and maintain high-quality performance for patients with complex care needs. Provide direction through great communication , team meetings, resolve program and personnel issues, provide training as needed, evaluate problems and complaints and take corrective actions as needed. Serve as a key point of contact between nursing staff, physicians, administration, and other healthcare professionals.

Provide nursing care to patients in a variety of correctional health care settings including urgent/emergent response, routine and episodic care through clinical appointments, and acute short term stay for chronic health care conditions. Also provide discharge planning for patients with substance use disorders in order for them to continue their individualized plan of care following release, in collaboration with their medical team, psychiatric team, and correctional custody staff.

Provide nursing care to patients in a variety of correctional health care settings to include urgent/emergent, episodic, routine clinical, and acute short term stay. Assess, plan, implement, monitor, evaluate, and educate the patient to develop an appropriate individualized plan of care in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
