Volunteer

I have been working in politics at the grassroots level since grade 12 when I approached the Conservative Candidate in my riding (Burnaby North-Seymour) to volunteer as a door knocker. Mid campaign the Candidate was involved in a scandal which disbanded the volunteer group, while others were discouraged I traveled to the neighbouring riding of Port Moody-Coquitlam where I was quickly caught up to speed on Nelly Shin's campaign strategy. Nelly won the election by a margin of just over 300 votes, emphasizing the importance of every hour of volunteering. In total I volunteered over 100 hours in advance of the 2019 Federal Election gave me access to political connections and kicked started my reputation within the party as a hard worker. After the election, I was invited to join the Burnaby North-Seymour Electoral District Association (EDA) for the Federal Conservative Party. After moving out of the riding I was keen to stay involved and reached out to the Vancouver Quadra EDA where was I invited to join the Executive and liaise with the Conservative campus club at UBC to promote youth engagement and organize volunteers for party events. From my participation with the Conservative Party I was asked to join the Point Grey EDA for the Provincial BC United Party. This is when I got involved in Kevin Falcon's successful leadership campaign, placing the 5th most Get Out The Vote phone calls of anyone on the team. I proudly serve on Kevin's women's advisory committee where I advocate for early childhood education, and on his youth advisory panel where I influenced his environmental, economic, and social policy. I was also selected as a youth delegate for the party's convention in Summer 2022 where I voted on important changes to the party's agenda.
