Recent graduate with foundational knowledge in biology and chemistry, and hands-on experience gained through academic projects and internships. Demonstrates strong teamwork, problem-solving, and safety management skills. Prepared to start a career and make meaningful contributions to the community with commitment and drive.
Conducted multiple relevant research projects under the guidance of my professors. Projects centered around ecotoxicology and biochemistry, and required the use and maintenance of delicate machinery. This role required a strong sense of time management, organizational skills, attention to detail, and upholding safety measures when working with hazardous materials.
This role involved maintaining and repairing a continuous flow fluorometery analyzer and attached auto-sampler, preparing the reagents used by the fluorometer, preparing samples, and reporting the data of analyzed samples. This position called for the direct handling of very toxic, corrosive and flammable compounds, so following standard operating procedures and remaining alert to potential dangers was a necessity.
Duties included briefing customers on safety protocols and standard operating procedures, and securing/detaching customers to/from the zipline. Additional tasks involved climbing to check the brakes on the lines and checking the integrity of harnesses as per safety standards. This work was team oriented and physically demanding, required the ability to lift upwards of 100 lbs consistently, and was entirely in outdoor summer conditions.
Practiced and participated in physical conditioning outside for long hours in variable weather, mentored new members and assisted them in the program. Performed at over 80 venues over the course of a year, and won the marching world championship in 2014, in Brazil. This role was very team oriented, and required working directly with more than 100 people in an efficient manner.
