Administer medications, treatments, and therapies to patients in accordance with established protocols and standards of care, aligning with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
Central line management, post-operative care, wound care, injections (subcutaneous, intramuscular), venipuncture and intravenous infusions.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, registered dietitians, physicians, and nurses.
Educate patients and families on proper medication administration, disease management, and postoperative care to improve health outcomes.
Utilize critical thinking skills to assess clinical situations quickly and accurately.
Demonstrates leadership by fulfilling night charge nursing duties and orienting new staff and students to the unit.
Maintain a safe environment for all patients by adhering to infection control policies and procedures.
