For the last 10 years I have worked as a nurse in the Vernon Cancer Centre. I worked for one year as a casual RN, and for the last 9.5 years as a permanent RN. During this time I have developed many skills that are assets to my nursing career. I am very proficient in my IV and central line skills. As well as my ability to do patient teaching for new medications and side effect management. I have worked doing telephone triage, oral and immunotherapy phone follow-up and as a clinic nurse to support the doctors and unit clerks. I have been involved in quality improvement initiatives, and brought forth learnings from drug companies on new medications that have been released.

I worked as an RN in a medical float line based on 2 east/west at VJH during this time.
