  • Maintenance and Operation were daily tasks, excavators, tractors, bailers mowers, seeders and other auxiliary equipment used to take care of the farm. Daily duties were agriculture based, Chickens, Cows, and Sheep were all on the farm as well as an annual cut or two of hay.
  • Additionally, tasked with anything from splitting a tractor for internal part replacements, to wiring in lights, circuits and other 12v electrical equipment.
  • This includes lots of hydraulic work and installation of new and old (repair) circuits, hose replacement and system malfunction diagnosis.

  • As a heavy-duty mechanic, flown to site where a crew utilized and maintained a service truck fleet while working on customers heavy equipment.
  • Ft. Mac is where I started
  • The main customer that I worked for was called KMC mining

Myself and other contractors maintained a fleet of Komatsu 930E haul trucks, and I was introduced the Cat 793D platform

  • This equipment and the rest of the support equipment gave me a chance to get into the troubleshooting of these massive pieces of iron
  • My everyday/night tasks were to maintain and diagnose all mechanical problems that the customer requested of me, and then volunteer myself in areas that others needed help in.
  • As part of a contracting company you are sent where you are needed
  • I most recently worked at Conuma Brule coal mine working with a build crew to replace large components on the customers fleet of 793F haul trucks.
  • The Job performed everyday at this position was very similar to other customers, but with most jobs being scaled up in size and in responsibility.
  • I have also had the opportunity to work on and alongside other contractors from the mine and replace certain components on Hitachi shovels, 3600, 5500, 7000 and certain size Komatsu PC excavators and shovels.

  • When apprenticing at Island Tractor as heavy-duty mechanic tasked with repairing and maintaining Kubota, New Holland, Case and Ford equipment. this position showed me just how important it was to keep farmers farming during the up season.
  • This position included lots of field work, including recalls, customer service, general maintenance and troubleshooting
  • This Position required the most adaptability due to the nature of graduating from high school to now knowing how to diagnose and pull apart major tractor components.
  • other tasks included keeping track of lots of paperwork and critical job details.

  • Troubleshooting anything is a very stuck interest Anything that has an issue has a solution and sometimes the evidence of how things break on there own tells a story of what could be next This is a well built skill due to doing it for so long, have lots of experience doing this on hydraulics, electrical and all sorts of mechanical equipment
  • Very keen on making sure things that are broken and out of my ability to fix get mentioned to the right person or resource so that they can be fixed
  • Trustworthy with equipment maintenance, handling and operation
  • Resourceful at fixing things with or without a supplied inventory
  • Caring about customers equipment and tooling, because its a known that it will be needed again
  • Capable of reading literature and finding the correct information
  • Work alongside others well in the work environment due to a curious attitude i hold towards others Ie Everyone knows something different about something and two sets of eyes can be better then one
  • Great at maintaining focus in a world full of distractions
