During this period of time, since I was the only Power Sport Racing, Aftermarket and Service OEM Product Engineer, I had the opportunity to work with several clients (Ford, GM, Stellantis, Mopar, Nissan, AM General, Volvo, Daimler, CNH, John Deere) and my responsibilities and deliveries grown in parallel:

Activities in Aftermarket Transmissions, Service OEM & Heavy-Duty OEM gear box components.

  • Execute failure analysis of transmission and/or components issues presented in field, communicate customer about problem solving activities to find root cause, implement contention and long term engineering solutions in collaboration with clients and update design if required.
  • Coordinate 8D root cause analysis, on & off problem, stack ups, prototypes builds, laboratory and vehicle tests to find solution of a problem and perform solution validation and verification.
  • Lead Product Engineering changes, analyze the product impact of those changes in other family products, apply blueprint design updates, manage BOM replacements in PLM, provide technical support to sales and production departments and coordinate implementation in plant in collaboration with manufacturing, industrial and quality engineering teams.
  • Create and keep up to date of DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) of the transmission components after a new engineering change or a problem solving activity.
  • Analyze the impact of product deviations or non conformance product from internal and external manufacturing suppliers and be the responsible to its approval.
  • Analyze wide variety of transmission components PPAPs from internal or external manufacturer suppliers, such as forging, electronic sensors, CNC machining parts, sand cast and die cast aluminum castings, tempering controlled steels, sintered metals.
