Lorraine Hannon

I have been teaching since 1990, and have experience at grade levels K-11. I have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, while remaining results oriented, determined and organized.

I am computer literate with both Apple and Microsoft, including Microsoft Office and Smart Board. I have work-related experience as a secretary dealing with the public.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English, a Bachelor of Education, and a Masters of Arts in Anglo-Irish Literature.

Experienced with developing and implementing age-appropriate lesson plans that engage young learners. Utilizing effective classroom management techniques to create a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere.

Track record of fostering strong parent-teacher relationships to support student success and growth.

• Awarded a Certificate of Excellence in teaching History of Quebec and Canada by the Provincial Association of Social Studies Teachers of the Province of Quebec
• Was Head Teacher of Queen Elizabeth High School
• Coordinated and organized kindergarten for 48 students on an isolated Aboriginal Reserve in northern Manitoba
• Developed and implemented Home Economics curriculum from grades 2 to 10
• Developed and implemented a learning centre in personal hygiene / grooming, sewing, cooking and career development for grades 7 to 10
• Taught an illiterate 14 year old how to read and write

Certificate of Excellence was presented to me for outstanding teaching achievement teaching the History of Quebec and Canada in 2002-2003 by the Provincial Association in of Social Studies teacher's in Quebec.  Two of my students got 100% on the provincial History Exam.
