- As of now I’m working as a cabling technician for an American company called Watlow working for Intel in Ireland
- We heat trace and insulate gas lines and fore-lines and exhausts into abatement systems for tools that help make micro chips in Intel
- It involves a lot of steps like computer work, working on heights like climbing spandeck up to 40ft to follow the pipes from the subfab to the fab, wiring and making plugs such as neutrik plugs, thermal connectors, power plugs and jumpers to help the heat tracing on the pipes connect to the controllers and keep the temperature on each zone at its desired heat to maintain the pipes flowing gas and prevent condensation on the gas-lines
- It’s a very demanding job but I loved it and was only in there to help out my ex boss who was low on staff as I knew I was heading to Canada in October but it was a brilliant experience especially getting to do electrical work which I had never done

- I was steel erecting and fitting drop down ladders, catwalks, making platforms and many other steel fitting jobs in intel
- I’m familiar with mag drills and using sds drills and other tools to cut through steel allowing the ladders to fit in place with existing structure
- Harness trained, safe pass and manual handling and working on heights, confined spaces and clean room trained
- Was on a small crew fitting In large steel ladders above the cleaning rooms in Fab 34 in Intel and installing walkways out over the roofs beams and snagging around the site
- Most of the job was on heights and using safety lines on ladders with beam clamps and chain blocks to lift the ladders over the catwalks and around piping systems with gaslines, forelines and plumbing systems everywhere it was complicated work but very rewarding and interesting to plan out

- Was on a team to make sure all the skips for steel, wood and electrics were getting refreshed throughout the day as intel was one of the biggest sites in Europe at the time with 6k plus workers, also helping carpenters and steel workers with labour and doing snagging jobs around the site eventually leading into hazard and chemical waste techs making sure the safety measures for the site were followed and ran smoothly
