General Patrol: Responded to an extensive range of service calls across diverse community demographics in high-pressure scenarios.

Foot Patrol: Entirely on foot, we patrolled specifically, the core of downtown Winnipeg while attending calls for service. We also developed and maintained good relationships with businesses within the downtown area.

Human Resources Recruiting: Responsible for conducting background investigations for prospective members of the Winnipeg Police Service and building staff.

Counter exploitation: Responsible for conducting criminal investigations and gathering intelligence that focused on illicit vice-related activities.

• Other Specialty Unit Experience:

Part Time Officer Safety Instructor: This unit is specifically designed to train and provide the service with the appropriate techniques and knowledge on how to protect themselves from potential threats.

Tactical Trauma Care Instructor: This unit is specifically designed to provide an additional level of care above First Aid for patients who have sustained potentially life-threatening injuries.

Crowd Management: This unit is specifically trained to engage with crowds or, in the event of a more hostile environment, a riot.

Special Duty: This unit is specifically created to fill extra duties required by the City of Winnipeg. Most include monitoring large corporations for shoplifting, or other crimes.

Skills and duties required as a constable:

• Arrested individuals suspected of criminal activities, following proper legal procedures.
• Investigated illegal or suspicious activities, performing direct follow-up or reporting findings to appropriate senior personnel.
• Interviewed witnesses and victims to determine critical details relevant to each case.
• Subdued resisting subjects with defensive tactics and approved nonlethal weapons.
• Rendered assistance to accident victims and other persons requiring first aid for physical injuries or medical crises.
• Testified in court at criminal hearings and trials as to scenes observed, evidence collected and previous incidents.
• Monitored radio transmissions from dispatch regarding reported crimes or emergencies.
• Gathered evidence, interviewed victims and interrogated suspects to conduct thorough criminal investigations.
