Lisa Davenport

J2 CVICU:

• Patient population: heart failure, post CVOR open heart surgeries, post op CABG, post op cardiac valve replacement/repair, TAVR, TEVAR, lung transplants, heart transplants.
• Recovered CV patients immediately after non-CV related procedures/general surgeries such as bronch, bedside trach, exlap, fasciotomy, GI surgeries, vascular procedures.
• Provides exceptional care to highly acute patients needing complex care such as ventilator management, VA ECMO, VV ECMO, IABP, LVAD/RVAD, CRRT, Impella.
• Collaborates with physicians to quickly assess patients and deliver appropriate treatment while managing rapidly changing hemodynamic conditions titrating multiple vasoactive/cardiac drugs.
• Monitors patient condition by interpreting cardiac rhythms, hemodynamics, lab values, assessing for bleeding. Proficient in using belmont for MTG when needed.
• Functions as Float RN and CV Code Responder, responding to ECMO watches and CV Codes on other units and assisting physicians and perfusionists in BLS/ACLS, airway management, and in bedside ECMO cannulation or open chest codes.
• Functions as charge RN on this high acuity unit. Makes decisions about bed moves and staffing assignments while keeping in mind mixed skill level of our nurses and complex needs of patients.
• Trains new staff in proper techniques, care standards, operational procedures, and safety protocols specific to J2 and Stanford.
• Educated patients and families on post-operative care and recovery protocols.

• Was member of IREP committee to improve early extubation protocol to enhance patient safety and outcomes.

MICU

• Patient population: post op heart surgeries, general medical ICU patients, drug and ETOH withdrawal patients
• Managed care of patients requiring mechanical ventilation, IABP, Impella, CRRT, and multiple sedative and vasoactive drips.
• Precepted new staff in proper techniques, care standards, operational procedures, and safety protocols.

ICU-Neurotrauma

• Patient population: patients with cerebral aneurysm, spinal cord injury, SAH, SDH, TBI, CVA, pre/post craniotomy.
• Provided ICU care to patients requiring, ICP/CPP monitoring, EVD, lumbar drains.
• Ratios of 1:2

Trauma ICU

• Patient population: patients with multiple forms of trauma including, but not limited to cardiac contusion/trauma, pulmonary/chest trauma, abdominal trauma, GSW, stabbing trauma, MVA, Peds vs MVA.
• Conducted ongoing monitoring and evaluations of patients and conditions involving skeletal traction, cervical spine precautions/logroll positioning, vest/halo traction, subarachnoid screw/bolt.
• Management of hemodynamic instability with vasodilators as well as vasoactive drips.
• Ratios of 1:1, 1:2

MICU

• Patient population: Post cath patients, GI bleeds, post back surgery, post abdominal surgery, drug overdose.
• Provided ICU nursing care to patients requiring vasoactive drips, blood transfusions, and mechanical ventilation.

• Provided ICU nursing care to patients requiring vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, and frequent monitoring.

Transplant ICU

• Patient population: post surgical liver, kidney, pancreas transplants.
• Trained as night shift Charge RN
• Provided direct patient care, stabilized post surgical liver, pancreas, and kidney transplants requiring vasoactive drips, CRRT, BiPap, mechanical ventilation, and immunosuppression meds.

Biochemisty Lab Technician

• Head of Biochemistry lab whose research concerned cellular signaling pathways in melanoma. I trained and supervised undergraduates in lab.
