Lindsay Navarro

As a Paraprofessional I oversee students from Kinder through 6th grade in common areas to monitor, maintain academic progress, and support with variations of teaching strategies in each classroom. From monitoring each student's progress in one-on-one and small group assistance in various subjects where accommodations are required in general education. Weekly, I assists instructional preparation in materials, constructed bulletin boards, and set up work areas through the collaboration's support from various certified teachers of different grade levels. A key responsiblity in my role is in overlooking variations of lesson plans for students who need stregthning in literacy skills and in mathematics.

In my role I assists with planning and coordinating day-to-day and special program art activities (Dance, Music, Art Exhibitions). I continue to establish and maintain the communal aspects of the program by fostering ongoing relationships built on trust and respect between students and our educators. I provide administrative support to department leadership, through supervision and daily proctoring of academic progress.

In the morning program, my responsibilities over look in maintaining records in program-related activities by ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines. In the daily practices, I lead the required lesson presentations while assisting in assigning projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion before the end of each program session. A beneficial factor to my role is being able to sought out new ideas or approaches that would contribute to improving overall program outcomes.

Established and maintained academic support for 9-12th grade students, participating in Legacy LA Afterschool Program. Assisted in developing and maintaining learning opportunities through Academic Extensive Work and Recreational Sports at Mendez H.S..
