  • First responder for all Damage Control casualties on-board ie. All A, B, C, D, and S fires, Toxic Gas/Hazmat spills that include IDLH, all Chemical, Biological, Radiological/Nuclear casualties, Structural Damage/Pipe ruptures and Flooding.
  • Responsible for training ship's crew, instructing sailors weekly on Damage Control and running drills as training team members.
  • Also, responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance on all installed and portable Damage Control/Fire Fighting equipment on-board to include Scott SCBA (45/30 Min), Scott SAR/Escape SCBA (15 min) used in conj. with PASP/RASP 60 min bottles for all IDLH hazmat/toxic gas casualties, AFFF system, Halon 1301, all water pressurized fire stations, portable extinguishers, exothermic cutting units, Jaws of Life, portable de-smoking blowers and ducting, portable fire pumps and eductors and much more not to include CBRN portable and installed point detection equipment/systems and MOPP gear ie. M-50 gas masks and JSLIST CBR protective garments.

    Trained/instructed and qualified over 500 sailors in Damage Control.

    As Fire Marshal and the Ship's ASFP Scene Leader, extinguished A, B, and C fires on board between USS Bunker Hill (CG 52) and USS Mustin (DDG 89) and combated 6 toxic gas casualties, 2 having exposure to high PPM of H2S.

    Led 20 sailors through the arduous INSURV, RE-6, and RE-7 inspections as Repair Division's Leading Petty Officer.

    Seven month deployment to the South China Sea onboard USS Bunker Hill (Nov '22-Jun '23).
