Work History

Junior Engineer

Western Mechanical
06.2024 - 09.2024
  • At Western Mechanical, I was tasked with producing AutoCAD drawings of machinery on a railway bed to ensure the load could be safely transported.
  • The main project I worked on was updating the racking storage system in and around the two warehouses on sight. My job included an update of the floor plan with all racking units organized and numbered, checking to ensure all racks are undamaged, and to report any units that may have structural damage. All racks were measured and drawn using AutoCAD and organized in an online library so they can be easily accessed.
  • While completing this project, I was also tasked with adding to the company’s online file of common parts and tools such as hydraulic jacks and shackles in AutoCAD. Each part was made using a dynamic block which included every size or type of part that could be accessed.
  • With the guidance of a senior engineer, I was able to design a custom strut for large hydraulic jacks that are supporting a foundation. The struts were designed to support the lateral load on the jacks and foundation to prevent failure, and have an interchangeable length, as the project involved many different jack sizes. The design process involved using the Handbook of Steel Construction to ensure the dimensions of the strut will withstand the maximum allowable load with a safety factor of 1.5.
  • During my time at Western Mechanical, I learned valuable lessons in structural engineering and how to produce high quality design reports. Attending weekly engineering meetings and being immersed in a setting with many different backgrounds and skillsets that work together efficiently taught me to uphold myself to high standards in my work and communication.

Backshop/starter

Woodington Lakes Golf and Country Club
05.2019 - 09.2023
  • Golf carts were taken care of before and after every use. This includes clearing the carts of any waste left over from the client, and washing the cart meticulously and making sure it has at least enough fuel to last another round of golf.
  • I also worked as a starter, making sure that the tee sheet is kept up to date, setting up golfers with a cart, and sending the groups off at their scheduled time. Being a starter taught me to be organized and attentive to maintain proper spacing and order at the first tee.

Backshop

Cutten Fields
05.2022 - 09.2022
  • Typical tasks included greeting every member and guest at the entrance of the golf shop and making sure every member’s clubs were either on a cart or on the rack ahead of their tee time.
  • The range and practice area were set up every morning at least one hour before the first tee time.
  • Carts were cleaned and stocked with sand bottles, tees, and clean towels before being parked for use. Golf clubs that are stored in the golf shop were cleaned thoroughly after every round and returned to their designated slot.
  • The backshop area was kept clean and always organized.
  • A backshop attendant was always prepared to help any member or guest should they need any assistance.
  • Working at a private golf club instilled self-motivation, with a strong sense of personal responsibility.

Production Associate

Honda Mfg
05.2021 - 09.2021
  • I worked on the 2022 Honda Civic within a team setting with carefully designed systems designed to maximize efficiency and quality while minimizing the time needed to complete a component of the automobile.
  • Factory work gave me experience in the manufacturing industry, and exposure to shift work.
  • Supported current production needs by moving items between equipment, conveyors, and staging areas.

Dishwasher/cook

Woodington Lakes Golf and Country Club
05.2018 - 09.2018
  • Being a dishwasher for a busy restaurant taught me to be very efficient and maintain focus under stress, while still enjoying the work.
  • I frequently worked 12-13 hour shifts during weddings hosted at the course.
  • Kept kitchen areas neat and clean by removing trash and organizing supplies.

Produce department

Vince’s Market
09.2017 - 09.2018
  • Working in the produce department, I learned to work safely with equipment while maintaining a hygienic workspace.

Maintenance/Landscaping

Town Bloom Garden Centre
06.2017 - 09.2017
  • I took responsibility for the presentation and care of the many types of flowers, shrubs, and trees.
