Provide dogs with low-energy interactions by sitting quietly with the dog as they enjoy your company
Bonding with the dogs by speaking to them
Reading to the dogs in their suites, or simply sit ting with them and sharing my thoughts—whether it’s about my upcoming exams, or the latest family drama. They’re great listeners and will never spill your secrets. All they ask in return is a little snuggle!
By sitting quietly with a dog, I also help prepare them for “downtime” after they are adopted. Adoptable dogs will learn to enjoy the presence of a human without having to be the centre of attention and develop exercise needs that are more manageable for adopters, both key elements for ensuring success in a new home.
