Liaba Gharibzada

TEAD is a registered charity that offers therapeutic riding lessons and other equine programs to those individuals with cognitive, physical, and emotional disabilities, including both kids and adults.

Over the months volunteering at TEAD, placed under title of being a side-walker for those who had riding lessons at TEAD. There would be two side-walkers, each standing on one side of the horse to provide support to the rider, holding each leg, whilst the instructor and leader would stand in the front. Proud to be a volunteer at TEAD because of constant support provided and given to those with cognitive, physical, and emotional disabilities and make them feel like they really belong in the equestrian industry, and that those can do anything a normal being can do.

Liaba has been employed by HBA (Hamilton Basketball Association) for the employment title of a Basketball Scorekeeper. She has proven her ability to provide accuracy and an organized record of a placement, and ensuring fairness and valuable data for her placement and manager. From greeting coaches, referees, and players to containing and organizing all data that encapsulates an entire match including timely records of scores, player statistics, and fouls within the span of the matches. Considered as being extremely self-motivated due to self- enthusiasm and self-goals placed the present and for the future.

These were the candidates following duties whilst being a HBA scorekeeper to further qualify her candidature for this role:

• Having to arrive early to set up bleachers, chairs for coaches and referees, and score table with score clock.
• Organize paperwork for team statistics for each age division including Co-ed, U-12, U-14 U-16, and U-18.
• Greet families, referees, and players to the gymnasium.
• Make sure referees have read fair play sheets to ensure a smooth and fair game.
• Keeping track of player statistics including personal fouls, scores, made foul shots, and team fouls.
• Constant coordination with referees, coaches, and other scorekeepers.
• Maintain the clock. Proper times for each shift, important 2 minute stop-time.
• Cleaning up benches, putting chairs and tables away.
