My primary goal is to improve the every day life of the residents in my care. I am an organized and self-motivated leader with almost 20 years of nursing experience in LTC. I believe that compassionate and supportive leadership is the key to empowering a team to meet their goals. I have developed a very strong skills set (particularly in my current IPAC role) and I am always striving to learn more. I have a passion for teaching to groups small and large and I am determined to provide immense value in the work that I do every single day.
As Infection Prevention and Control lead, I have been responsible for implementation of the IPAC program in the home over the past 2.5 years. My role has involved leading the home in implementation of the continuously changing Ministry guidance, leading outbreak management, providing education to residents, team members, and family/visitors, organizing and participating in the immunization program for residents and staff.
In the Quality Management RPN position, I was responsible for providing education, auditing quality of nursing care, completing MDS assessments as the RAI MDS back up, leading the restorative care program, ensuring team member completion of onboarding and annual education modules, leading onboarding education for new hires, as well as, a variety of other duties.
Provision of nursing care to up to 32 residents. This included medication administration and provision of treatments.
