Ombudsperson Liaison for the Office of Youth and Community Restoration under the office of Secretary Ghaly. Investigate complaints from youth or those on behalf of youth housed in California Juvenile Detention Facilities. Interview youth, probation staff, and department probation chiefs. Conduct routine site visits. Provide technical assistance and offer resolutions solutions related to safety and programming concerns.

• Assist in planning, directing, organizing, staffing and coordinating program activities of AB109 Division (High Risk Unit, Violent Crimes Unit, Day Reporting Center, Assessment Center, Transitional Age Youth Unit & Pretrial Monitoring Unit).
• Oversee all operational and administrative aspects of AB109 Division, including responsibility for sworn and non-sworn personnel who are providing services to clients released from prisons back into the community as part of AB109 realignment.
• Collaborate with Collaborative Courts and other partners under Community Corrections Partnerships.
• Collaborate in partnership with Research and Evaluation Unit to better utilize the management of IT, case management systems, data and analysis of business processes and efficiencies, and expand data-driven decision making in implementing practices.
• I report AB109 Dashboards to Community Corrections Partnership on progress of goals established under AB109 Realignment Plan.
• Assist with development and implementation of administrative policies and procedures pertaining to AB109 as well as Field and Court Services.
• Assist with budget preparation for AB109 and Administrative Services Divisions, including annual STC Training Reports, monitored expenditures of training and AB109 vendor contracts.
• Conduct quarterly meetings with Community Based Organizations to better serve as a community resource to clients.
• Conduct individual meetings with Community Based Organizations to gain better understanding of services they provide for our AB109 clients and how we can work together to better serve the public.
• Direct Reports: Six-Probation Unit Supervisors, 6-high risk units and approximately 50 sworn and non-sworn personnel.

• Supervised unit(s) which varied from being responsible for youth at risk (truancy), Misdemeanor and Felony DUI offenders, Adult Interstate Transfer ins/outs, Adult Assessment Center and Professional Standards.
• Supervised nine (9) Background Investigators responsible for Internal Affairs Investigations and incoming employee candidate's background checks and investigation reports.
• Worked in collaboration with polygraph examiners, psychiatrist, medical personnel, County Human Resources Division and a host of outside employers in preparation of employee background investigations.
• Participated on and chaired hiring panels, interviewing potential candidates pursuing careers in administrative services, counseling and mentorship services, internships or in law enforcement.
• Oversaw and was responsible for all mandated STC Training Reports required by BSCC.
• Oversaw and was responsible for all mandated county Training Reports and records for department sworn and non-sworn personnel.
• Facilitated Probation Supervisor Leadership Academy, Probation Officer CORE Academy and Moral Recognition Training (MRT).
• Hosted all Department New Employee Orientation meetings for all job classifications within the probation department.
• Acted as Probation Department's Equal Employment Opportunity Coordinator. Promoted diversity, respect and inclusion department and county-wide. Conducted all informal EEO Complaints pursuant to County EEO Rule 20.
• Acted as mediator for staff in pursuit of resolution of issues at the informal level.
• Assisted outside agencies with conducting interview/hiring panels.
• Coordinated with law enforcement and outside agencies to ensure offenders are rehabilitated in the community while staying in compliance with court ordered conditions and relevant laws and ensuring that case management is all encompassing.
• Acted as the emergency floor warden for safety and security and building evacuation.
• Investigate and gather statistics related to sworn staff's training needs.
• Prepared for and managed records for annual BSCC STC audits.

• Lead officer in both Adult Assessments and DUI Units while managing a DUI caseload of approximately 2,800 clients.

• Assigned to Probation's Adult Investigation Unit. Conducted client interviews for Pre-Sentencing, Pre-Plea and other supplemental reports.
• Interviewed clients in office, at the County Jail and State Prisons.
• Interviewed victims for impact statements and restitution requests.
• Testified in Court on behalf of the Probation Department.
• Managed a caseload of over 500 Domestic Violence Offenders.
• Collaborated with outside agencies in order to support clients assigned to my Family Focused caseload.
• Assisted Probation's Pretrial Unit with assessments of arrestees at the County Jail in order to determine custody status.
