X-Ray Technologist:

  • CMRITO member in good standing.
  • Operate X-ray and mobile equipment to obtain imagery in Diagnostic Imaging, ER, OR, ICU and on units.
  • Follow radiation safety measures and use protection devices to prevent harm to patients or staff.
  • Execute various types of diagnostic imaging procedures on patients ranging from toddler to adult.
  • Uphold high level of service to patients by assisting in different ways, displaying professionalism and responding appropriately to questions and concerns within scope of practice.
  • Review and evaluate X-rays to determine satisfaction of images for diagnostic purposes.
  • Help patients into proper positions for procedures and provide breathing instructions for best quality images.

CT Technologist:

  • Knowledgeable in cross sectional anatomy.
  • Use computed tomography equipment to take images of patients from different angles to form a complete picture of condition for accurate diagnosis.
  • Monitor patients for signs of adverse reactions or imaging findings of significance.
  • Collect from patients some medical history as part of exam preparations for procedures or contraindications.
  • Develop imaging for diagnostic purposes and prepare for STAT read from radiologist.
  • Assist radiologist in performing biopsies.
  • Sanitize machine after each patient.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media for imaging procedures in accordance with department policy.
  • Perform on call CT studies.
  • Communicate clinical findings during CT scan examination to radiologists.
  • Perform daily Quality Assurance tests.
  • Educate patients on procedure details prior to examination.
  • Monitor and manage inventory of special procedure supply levels of sterile items and contrast materials.
