  • As a licensed phlebotomist I would guide my patient to the draw room to preform venipuncture. I will verify patient information double check the requisition for all test codes.
  • I practiced in cleanliness by washing my hands before putting gloves on and washing my hands after the blood draw
  • During blood draw I do my best to not only build a relationship with each patient but also make sure they are comfortable and not feeling sick or dizzy.
  • Worked in the lab scanning in the blood putting each tube in its designated area, process urine, stool and get specimens ready to ship keeping a close eye on putting each specimen in its correct bag.
  • Entering orders, using my computer skills to enter the patients information along side with insurance information and entering each test code the doctor had ordered.
  • When at the door, I greet each patient, guide them to the check-in station show they how to sign in answer any questions, collect paper work provide urine cups if sample is needed.
  • Drug screening test for employers guiding patients through the test having them put belongings away and having them witness the test being packaged and ready to ship to the lab.
