Summary

The Marshview Patio is a restaurant that I love not only for its incredible menu, but also for its beautiful, nature-oriented atmosphere. After visiting over the summer/fall, I quickly grew to admire your restaurant's ability to deliver consistent, quality customer service and, of course, to produce some very delicious food. I would absolutely love the opportunity to work in a front-of-house position at The Marshview.

I have plenty of experience working in both front and back of house positions in the restaurant industry, which has given me the many opportunities to refine the skills necessary for this position, such as team collaboration, communication, time management, problem-solving and most importantly, a very strong work ethic. Since my very first job as a dishwasher at 2/11 main in Port Dover, I've worked in many different areas within the scope of customer service including, serving, bartending, multiple kitchen positions, and retail. I also have some experience in medical environments from past volunteer work and my current studies toward becoming a nurse.

These experiences have taught me how to properly engage with customers (and patients, in a hospital setting), who may be in a wide variety of emotional states. My goal is to go above and beyond in meeting their needs, while always ensuring they feel comfortable and understood. When working in a fast-paced kitchen and serving roles, I refined my ability to work under strict time constraints and to always make sure my surroundings are clean and organized. I am efficient in staying on task in high-stress positions, all while coordinating with my work team. I believe I would do very well in this position, as I love customer service in general, but I find work in the restaurant industry to be particularly rewarding. Showing customers compassion, dedication, and genuine care are very important values to me and what I find to make all the difference in a dining experience.

Growing up in Norfolk County - especially out in the countryside - has provided me with a deep love of this community and the uniqueness of its nature. I have come to greatly appreciate businesses such as yours that are dedicated to sustainable practices and promoting Norfolk's local products, ultimately letting our community to thrive. If given the opportunity to work here, I would be very happy to engage with those visiting Eco-Adventures on the importance of conservation, sustainability, and the beauty of our surrounding wildlife.

Thank you so much for considering my application.

Sincerely, Leah
