During my undergraduate study, I excelled by quickly learning the valuable skills of self-motivation and time management. I have continued these alongside other qualities mentioned below as I recently earned a master's degree in creative writing. A dedicated volunteer as a senior reader at The Coachella Review, I showcase strong decision-making and excellent communication skills. I was recently promoted to the role of associate editor, enhancing publication quality.
After a year and a half of serving as a reader for The Coachella Review, I was promoted to being an associate editor for its latest edition; my responsibility was being among those who chose which writings met the journal's publication standards. My time with The Coachella Review concluded upon my graduation from graduate school.
Assisted in the role of reader by evaluating short stories, plays and screenplays to determine if they were worthy of publication. I advanced to the role of senior reader in addition to judging poetry submissions.
I have published several student essays on the website Professor Ramos' Blog under the username ksmrev310 and advanced my writing skills by being the 2023 UC Riverside recipient of the Schrimad Rajchandra Essay Award. I was additionally on the Dean's List for multiple quarters/semesters at Crafton Hills and UC Riverside along with the Chancellor's List for one of my undergraduate years at UCR.
