Summary

With over 16 years of experience in the Food Services Department at the Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA), I bring a strong foundation in healthcare food service operations and culinary arts. A graduate of the Culinary Arts Program at Vancouver Island University, I have held multiple progressive roles including Team Lead, Head Cook (Cook 2), Cook 1, and Food Service Worker 1 & 2.

Currently, I am working toward my designation as a Food Service Supervisor through the CSNM-accredited Nutrition and Food Service Management Program at Langara College, with an expected graduation in June 2026.

My core responsibilities include ordering, recieving/inventory management, preparing, cooking, and serving over 900 meals daily. Ensuring each meal meets strict dietary requirements for allergies, anaphylaxis, dysphagia, and texture modified diets. I have a strong understanding of HACCP principles, food safety plans, and I actively mentor new staff on compliance with health and safety regulations.

I am a dedicated leader with excellent verbal and written communication skills, adept at collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, assisting with menu development, and utilizing specialized software to support menu management and care planning. My goal is to continue advancing in healthcare food service leadership and contribute to delivering high-quality nutrition care within the Vancouver Island health authority.
