  • ONGC is a leading Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) in India and is recognized as the country’s largest company engaged in crude oil and gas exploration and production.
  • I spent 13 years at ONGC, where I held responsibilities across various installations, including 11 Group Gathering Stations (GGS), 1 Central Tank Farm (CTF), 2 Gas Collection Stations (GCS), and 3 Gas Compressor Plants (GCP). In total, I managed 17 installations, both large and small.
  • All these installations operate using a SCADA system, with four major process parameters—pressure, flow, temperature, and level—playing a crucial role. A variety of electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic instruments have been utilized to monitor these parameters.
  • As an Instrumentation Engineer, my responsibilities included conducting preventive, breakdown, and shutdown maintenance. I actively participated in various projects, including:

1 Instrumentation renovation of four gas compressor plants (with utility).

2 Automation of three gas manifolds (each with 20 gas injection lines).

3 Commissioning of a jumbo crude oil heater treater (HT) vessel.

4 Commissioning of three gas compressor plants (total eight compressors).

5 Implementation of a new burner management system (BMS) in an old heater treater (HT).

6 Commissioning of flow control loops in custody transfer meters (CTM), a total of eight loops.

7 Installation of new multivariable flow transmitters (MVT) in CTM, also a total of eight loops.

8 Renovation of the old fire-fighting systems at two locations (CTF and GGS Wadu).

9 Installation of interface level transmitters (ILT) in old heater treater vessels.
