Master's Thesis- “Even if we want help, there is no help”: Exploring Perceptions and Barriers in Home Care Services within the South Asian Communities

• Conducted a comprehensive scoping review on the impact of the pandemic on the delivery of home care services in OECD countries, using Covidence software .
• Recruited South Asian older adults and care partners from hospitals, home care, and religious sites.
• Facilitated collaboration with and provided support to the South Asian community members, fostering meaningful community engagements, and ensuring culturally sensitive research practices.
• Collaborated with research peers, committee members, and supervisor for review and feedback.
• Engaged in over 170+ hours of community engagement activities with the South Asian population to build rapport and establish meaningful connections within the community.

• Supported the completion of Research Ethics Board (REB) applications and navigation of the ethics approval process from both York University and the University of Waterloo.
• Utilized social media, online platforms , such as LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram to recruit, engage, and build relationships with stakeholders and potential participants for the study.
• Authored and submitted manuscripts to peer-reviewed journals such as British Medical Journal (BMJ), effectively presenting intricate research findings.

· Analyzed end-of-grant reports for CIHR funded initiatives, evaluating their impact and ultimate outcomes on indigenous population.

· Designed analytical surveys in VOXCO to measure HIV-STBBI initiative outcomes and impact, providing recommendations to the Treasury Boards of Canada Secretariat

· Generated a comprehensive technical report analyzing Research Reporting System (RRS) data using SPSS , which was presented to the Head of Evaluation.

• Managed a high volume of email inquiries from study participants and responded to all messages within a 24-hour timeframe.
• Researched and collected data through literature reviews while accurately cataloguing citation information using Mendeley software.
• Scheduled and coordinated weekly and monthly research meetings on Zoom and Teams.
• Analyzed quantitative data using SPSS version 29.
