- Managed inventory and weekly ordering of medical supplies within the clinic setting, as well are ordering specialty products on an individual client basis.
- Efficiently conducting health assessments to establish treatment plans + thus providing the best possible therapeutic care.
- Providing wound care of all etiologies (ie. traumatic, surgical, DFUs) as per best practice and Bayshore standards with great knowledge in products antimicrobials + dressings, VAC therapy to aid in healing
- Appropriate and effective application of compression therapies; Coban 2 + Lite, Three-Flex, Unna Boot, in managing edema + treating VLUs.
- Total Contact Cast applications to aid in treatment of DFUs.
- Managing CVADs such PICC lines, Hickmann line, port-a-caths (assessing, providing sterile dressing changes, flushes).
- Safely administering medication/infusions through various routes + injections (subcutaneous, IM), CADD pump, gravity, elastomeric devices.
- Proficient in IV insertions and management of IVs.
- Management of various drains (JP, pleural, nephrostomy, peritoneal drains).
- Foley catheter care (insertions, management of + conducting trial of voids).
- Sound knowledge in APRs and applying nursing knowledge as to when to liaise with Coordinators at OHaH.
- Always provides support and health teaching to clients and their caregivers when appropriate
- Ongoing collaboration with interdisciplinary team (ie. ET, vascular surgeon through Lower Limb
Preservation Program) for comprehensive patient
care planning/treatment.
