Carried out the project work in inorganic and analytical branch of chemistry during Masters which is entitled as “Synthesis and characterisation of transition metal complexes of a Schiff base ligand N, N’-disalicylaldehyde-1,3-propanediimine”. It included the synthesis of square pyramidal, square planar and octahedral complexes of Nickel and Copper. It was followed by spectrometric and quantitative analysis of these compounds for elucidating the geometry, denticity and binding of ligands in these complexes. This project comprised of carrying out instrumental analysis of complexes which includes UV-vis, Infra red, NMR, MASS spectrometery, Conductivity and magnetic measurements etc. Carried out number of synthetic experiments in laboratory and worked with glass wares as well as with following equipment’s: UV-Vis Spectrophotometer, IR spectrophotometer, Gas chromatograph, Mass spectrometer, HPLC, ph meter, Conductivity meter, BOD incubator, Vaccum pump, Flash point apparatus, Muffle furnace, Centrifuge, Autoclave, Incubator, Kipps apparatus, Drying oven, Analytical balance, Dessicator, Water bath, Polarimeter, Distillation unit, Melting point apparatus, De-ionised water plant, Refluxing. Experience in carrying out chromatographic analysis of organic products using Paper chromatography, TLC, Column chromatography, HPLC, Gas chromatography etc. Carried out sampling, separation, extraction and washing in laboratory.
