All-In-One Direct Plaster Screeding on a concrete Block wall, 01/2021, This technology help the technician to plaster and screed at the same instant thereby saving cost, time and energy. In most developing countries like Nigeria, the building finishes after block work is to plaster on the block with design mix of plaster sand, cement and water. After a while the builder will screed over the plastered wall. This conventional system has be repeated for years and most engineers and technicians have complained about the high cost, delayed time and less efficiency of this process. Also is it observed that it is not durable because most building walls begin to pill-off and decay after a short period of time especially in the water-logged areas due to capillary action on the paint and building wall. With my training and work experience at AXION Global Engineering (a subsidiary of AXION Canada), I mastered the craft techniques to bind tuffcrete polymer with Cement to produce a design mix for direct screeding on a block wall. In this design mix I use stone dust and sharp sand which is much stronger binding agent than plaster sand. This process is also similar to casting on a block wall thereby making it more solid, durable, water resistant, fire proof, anti-fungi and cures much faster. this light weight water proof concrete is a powerful molecular activator which replaces water normally used to batch ready-made concrete. This innovative modern organic polymer ensures greater tensile strength and it’s less brittle than normal cement concrete which is susceptible to deformation. I plan to use my studies and research work to improve this design mix that can make building construction finishes more efficient, durable, cost effective and less time consuming.
This design mix is currently replacing the usual conventional style all around Africa. I want to continue to use my experience and research work to modify on this design thereby making it more cost effective and easier application.
