My name is Kimberley Price and I was a Child Protection Supervisor with the Catholic Children’s Aid Society of Toronto from December 2009 until March 2025. During this period, I had the honour of supervising several Family Service Teams, including a Specialized Adolescent Team. Of most recent, I supervised a Disclosure Services Unit which included 3-4 Child Protection Workers and 9 additional staff. Prior to this, I was a Child Protection Frontline Worker, also with the Catholic Children’s Aid Society of Toronto. I started in December 1998 and fulfilled roles at Intake, Ongoing Services, a Specialized Adolescents team, and Placement/Resources, where I assessed, reviewed and provided recommendations. Prior to 1998, I also worked for the Children’s Aid Society of Toronto and Kawartha Haliburton Children’s Aid Society. As a Supervisor, I had the opportunity to coach and mentor both new and senior staff and sought to support the development and implementation of numerous practice approaches concerned with the best interests of children, youth and families. This was achieved through relationship-building with staff, by way of engagement and transparency to achieve trust. Trust creates opportunity to further inspire, challenge, motivate and influence staff to strive to achieve the Society’s Service Principles that hold us all accountable. I believe that this role modelling is incredibly important because it mirrors the action and behavior that is required and necessary to promote best interests, protection and the well being of those children, youth and families we serve. Without relationship and trust, positive change and outcome simply cannot be achieved. For the reasons listed above, I would suggest that I am a worthy candidate for this competition and would appreciate the opportunity to interview before you. Thank you in advance for your consideration. Although, I am not bilingual, I am resourceful and have collaborated with bilingual staff to provide services in French, to further support inclusive and equal access to services.
